Notice - Port of Melbourne Traffic Disruptions - June 2023
Further to our correspondence on Monday 19/06 below, Whale Logistics has been notified that further protests have occurred this morning impacting operations at the Port of Melbourne.
What is happening?
Activists have blocked traffic this morning at Footscray Road, Napier Road and Shephereds Bridge, the main access point to the Port of Melbourne.
We are unsure how long the protest will last however we have been advised that Police are onsite and monitoring the situation.
What does this mean?
Traffic has significantly banked up with many trucks stuck in the traffic jam with no ability to redirect or seek an alternative route.
The continued targeting of the Port of Melbourne terminals is having an adverse effect on planned schedules today and will likely impact the balance of the week.
