Further to this morning's update, Whale Logistics has now been notified that Industrial Action will now be extended through to the 27/11/2023 impacting Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Fremantle DP World terminals.
Several full day stoppages (8 hours each) are planned and will cause further disruption to terminal operations and further increase the scarcity of available time-slots.
Whale Logistics will continue to work toward having your container/s delivered with minimal impact to the best of our ability and deliveries will only be scheduled once a time slot has been formally confirmed.

Further to our email on the DP World cyber attack and industrial action, Whale Logistics has been notified of the following updates.
What is happening?
We have been advised that upward of 30,000 containers were impacted due to the cyber attack on DP World terminals. Despite the impact, the MUA have decided to proceed with industrial action adding further delays and disruption to DP World terminals.
What does this mean?
The cyber attack essentially haulted the movement of containers in and out of DP World terminals. With no additinal time-slots being offered, we will see a delay in container processing and deliveries over the coming week and more than likely into the next.
Transport operators and freight forewarders alike will attempt to re-allocate and work on the back log amidst the minimal slot space available.
Flexibility may be required by importers to ensure containers are accepted, unpacked and de-hired within the detention free period - including weekends. There is the likelihood of additional charges being passed on due to the delays and disruptions.
How can Whale help?
In light of the dirsuptions, Whale Logistics will work closely with our customers and ensure the impact to their business is minimal to the best of our ability. Containers will be slotted and processed based on urgency with a strong emphasis on avoiding detention/additional charges. We will do our best to ensure your container arrives as quickly as possible and with minimal impact.
Should you have any questions on the above, please reach out to your Account Manager directly who would be more than happy to help!

James Demetrios
