Notice - Potential Disruption to the Port of Brisbane
Whale Logistics has been notified of a potential pilot strike expected to occur this Thursday, 24th August likely to impact operations at the port of Brisbane.
What is happening?
Pilots, represented by the Australian Maritime Officers Union (AMOU), from the sole provider of pilotage services in the Port of Brisbane, Poseidon Sea Pilots, intend to stop work for 24 hours commencing at 0001 AEST, Thursday 24th August.
What does this mean?
If the Industrial action were to proceed, it has the potential to severely impact vessel movements in and out of the Port of Brisbane from Thursday, 24th August onwards. In turn, this could delay vessel arrivals and disrupt export receival windows for vessels.
